Taco John's cowboy monkeys set for TV
June 22, 2006
CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Taco John's mascot Whiplash will be joined by two other cowboy monkeys in the chain's latest TV spots.
"Taco John's customers tell us repeatedly that they love Whiplash, so we responded to that demand with three monkeys instead of one," said Chris Preston, executive creative director at Kerker, the advertising agency for Taco John's. "Using the three amigos became the perfect way to emphasize the fact that Taco John's has a burrito for every craving and customers can choose their own West-Mex favorite."
This latest campaign includes a TV spot promoting the selection of burritos available at Taco John's by featuring Whiplash and his amigos standing proudly by their personal favorites, which include Taco John's Super Burrito, Crunchy Chicken Burrito and Grilled Burrito with marinated steak.
To complement the campaign, Taco John's is launching a Mountain Dew Racing "Go for the Cup" promotion. Consumers purchasing a combo meal with a 32 oz. or 42 oz. soft drink will drive off with a limited-edition plastic cruiser cup featuring young Mountain Dew Racing champion Brian Vickers.
Beginning July 11, more than 500,000 Mountain Dew Racing fans will receive a Pepsi X-tras e-mail inviting them to enter online to win a grand prize trip for two to the final race of the Nextel Cup season at Homestead-Miami Speedway Nov. 19.
