Franchisees helped create the unique burger that sits on a whole new bun.

McDonald's in Tampa, Florida, has created ground-chicken burger featuring dark and white meat spiced up with onion powder and garlic and available in two choices: the classic and signature (featuring a sweet sauce), both on a new “gourmet” bun, according to a Tampa Bay Business Journal report.
The new burger is the brain child of tenured franchisees, including Blake Casper, who owns more than 50 McDonald’s in the Tampa Bay area, according to the Times.
"The whole chicken burger market is growing; you’re seeing it more in restaurants," Casper told the Times. "This isn’t a chicken sandwich, but a chicken burger — there’s a real difference in its bite."
