The Chick-fil-A location at West Braker Lane and U.S.183 in Austin re-opened Aug. 12 after a five-month remodel, according to 13 WMAZ TV. Despite the closure of the restaurant for the remodel, Jeff Glover, who has operated the restaurant for 15 years, and not wanting his employees to have to forgo their salaries, continued to pay his 50 employees, including giving them a $1 per hour raise, according to WMAZ.
The workers were required to do some online testing while the store was closed, and Glover is expected to hire additional workers, WMAZ reported. The new building is double the size of the original and has a third drive-thru lane.
