Texas Chicken, sister brand to Church's Chicken, struck a deal to expand to Bulgaria. The first location – a traditional free-standing store in the capital city of Sofia – is set for a July 2015 grand opening, according to a company press release. Cinema Entertainment Food, which does business as Church's Chicken in the U.S., is a leading QSR operator in Bulgaria, the release said. The company will open up to seven restaurants in the country within the next 5 years.

"We're proud to be making our best-in-class chicken available on an even larger global scale," said Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer Tony Moralejo, for Church's. "We're looking forward to continuing to bring more stores online throughout Bulgaria in the months to come." The company's deal with Cinema Entertainment Food includes both in-line and traditional free-standing restaurants.

The new Texas Chicken locations in Bulgaria will feature new locally-influenced menu items, plus the same menu items as Church's in the U.S., such as the restaurant's fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, honey butter biscuits, coleslaw, corn on the cob and more.
