Texas Chicken to open 80 locations in Indonesia

July 17, 2018

Texas Chicken has signed an 80-location deal with PT. Quick Service Restaurant to open and operate locations primarily in Indonesia, one of the chain's fastest growing markets, a news release said. The franchisee plans to open the first three restaurants by the end of this year.

PT. Quick Service Restaurant is now among three franchisees to enter the market under the Texas Chicken brand, beginning with P.T. Cipta Selera Murni in 1985, which currently has 59 Indonesian locations of the brand.

"The Asia Pacific market has been a sweet spot for Texas Chicken," Texas Chicken Executive Vice President of International Business Tony Moralejo said in the news release. "We've experienced incredible growth in this part of the globe. ... To continue the momentum of this expansion, we are actively pursuing more franchisees who believe in the brand and its growth potential."

PT. QSR plans to open locations in the following provinces in the next 10 years: DKI Jakarta, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, Banten, West Java and Lampung. The company is a subsidiary of Envictus International Holdings Limited. Texas Chicken is the international sister brand of Church's Chicken in the U.S. Together, the brands have more than 1,500 locations in 23 countries and territories, and system-wide sales of more than $1 billion.
