The beat goes on at Taco Bell

August 22, 2010

Taco Bell today announced a call to entry for its Feed the Beat program for the fifth year. The program has rewarded more than 265 bands with a free "Fourthmeal" to fuel them while on tour.

The program also provides bands with opportunities to gain exposure for their music through Taco Bell sponsorships and marketing platforms. The restaurant also builds awareness through a partnership with MTV, which has included some Feed the Beat bands' performances at the Video Music Awards.

Taco Bell will conduct a nationwide search for 100 bands and provide them with one month's supply of Fourthmeal - equating to $500 in $5 Taco Bell Bucks per band.

Auditions to become a Feed the Beat band begin today and continue through Sept. 17. Those interested can sign up for free at www.feedthebeat.com/signup/. Winners will be announced Sept. 28.

"At Taco Bell, we understand the importance of music and how our customers see the relationship between music and the Taco Bell brand," said David Ovens, chief marketing officer, Taco Bell Corp. "Through the Feed the Beat program, we help support up-and-coming bands working hard toward their big break in a challenging industry. Whatever help we can offer, whether it's with free Fourthmeal or helping get them valuable broadcast exposure, we want to show our support."
