The Hills duo, Taco Bell aid World Hunger Relief

September 24, 2008

IRVINE, Calif. — In an effort to raise awareness of global hunger, Taco Bell is again joining forces with Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt of MTV's hit reality show "The Hills." The couple will host the World Hunger "Reality Check Challenge" event for the second straight year.

On Oct. 2 Montag and Pratt will serve customers at a Los Angeles Taco Bell, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Customers can make a donation to support Taco Bell's parent company Yum! Brands' campaign to raise funds for The World Food Programme. Last year, Taco Bell and Yum! restaurants raised more than $16 million globally.

World Hunger giving cards are available at all participating Taco Bell locations nationwide. Donations for the cards begin at $1 and all proceeds raised in the United States go directly to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to help combat global hunger.

Last week, Montag and Pratt joined Taco Bell at Union Rescue Mission in Los Angeles to serve food to the hungry and homeless. At the conclusion of the visit, Taco Bell made a $15,000 donation to the mission in the reality stars' name.
