Tim Hortons serves up steak for lunch

September 17, 2013

Tim Hortons has rolled out a new grilled steak and cheese Panini for the lunch daypart.

The new Panini features slices of seasoned Canadian steak, layered with mozzarella, red onions and black pepper mustard mayonnaise on top of a homestyle bun then grilled.

"Our guests love our grilled Panini, so we wanted to give them another exciting variety that's different from anything else on our menu," said Donna Finelli, VP of Marketing, Food and Merchandise, Tim Hortons. "Our new grilled steak and cheese Panini is perfect for guests who are craving steak."

The new Panini is available for a limited time for $5.29 at participating Tim Hortons restaurants across Canada.

Steak has made its way onto numerous QSR menus as of late. McDonald's is now offering steak as a breakfast sandwich topping. Dunkin' Donuts, Hardee's and Subway have also spotlighted the protein recently. And Taco Bell upgraded its steak earlier this year for its Cantina Bell menu.
