Tim Horton's signs major deal to develop sites across Minnesota

June 10, 2016

In what the company calls the largest development agreement of its kind to date, Tim Horton’s is partnering with Restaurant Brands International and Restaurant Development Partners  to expand across Minnesota in commitments that extend all the way to 2030.

"This development area shares many characteristics with other markets where we've been most successful in the U.S., representing a prime opportunity for the continued expansion of the Tim Horton's brand," stated Tim Horton’s President Elias Diaz Sese, in a company release. "The RDP team has a long history and deep expertise in real estate development that will serve them well in building scale and driving growth."

The initiative will be led by new RDP President Mark Holly, who has a decade of corporate experience with the Tim Horton's and most recently led the company's Canadian development team.

In February, RBI announced an agreement with the Luke Family of Brands to develop restaurants in Indiana. The chain opened its first location in 1984 and currently locations in the U.S., Canada and the Middle East.
