Tim Hortons takes 'Smile Cookie' worldwide

September 12, 2018

Tim Hortons worldwide this year will take part in the brand's annual Smile Cookie campaign that had previously occurred only at the chain's Canadian stores. But this year from Sept. 17-23 the blue-eyed and pink frosty-lipped chocolate chunk cookies will be available for $1 each to support good works in local communities from North and Central America to the U.K., Philippines and the United Arab Emirates.

Tim Hortons restaurant owners will donate the full dollar to a charity of their choice. Last year, the campaign raised more than $6.5 million for a variety of charities ranging from the Snowsuit Fund in Ottawa to the British Columbia Children's Hospital Foundation in Vancouver.

"The magic of the Smile Cookie is that there is a real smile of a Canadian individual benefitting behind each and every one," said Alex Macedo, president, Tim Hortons. "We are incredibly proud and deeply appreciative of what our restaurant owners and guests accomplish together each year with this program, raising millions of dollars to help those who need it most through donations to charities from coast-to-coast."
