Tim Hortons to re-introduce classic menu items for 50th anniversary

March 28, 2014

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Tim Hortons is asking its fans to help reintroduce one of its classic menu items with its Bring It Back online campaign.

Five menu items — one from each decade starting with the 1960s — will be featured during the campaign, during "Throwback Thursdays." Once all five items are revealed, from May 1-May 14, guests can then vote for their favorite at TimsBringitBack.com or on Tim Hortons' Facebook page.

According to a news release, the winning item will be announced on May 15, just in time for the company's official birthday on May 17, and will make its comeback in-restaurant later this year.

The first featured reintroduction is the Éclair, which debuted on menus in the 1960s.

"For 50 years Tim Hortons has been updating its menu to suit the evolving tastes and preferences of our guests, and with that, some menu items have come and gone, yet we continue to receive requests to bring back beloved menu items," VP of Marketing Glenn Hollis said in the release. "Bring It Back is our way of saying thank you to our loyal guests for the past five decades. We hope it sparks fond memories for Canadians and Tim Hortons employees from coast to coast."
