Toronto demands QSRs find recycling solution

The Globe and Mail (Toronto):The Toronto public works committee has given fast-food outlets five months to reduce consumer packaging waste. Restaurants have until April 2009 to find a recycling solution for disposable coffee and hot-drink cups that now go to landfills.
The committee's original proposal called on the fast-food industry to develop reusable take-out containers by 2010, and also switch to all-recyclable disposable take-out containers by the end of next year.
