The Women’s Foodservice Forum, a leadership development organization, in partnership with Brinker International announced that Lisa MacNeil, General Manager, United Restaurant Supplies, a subsidiary of Gordon Food Service, was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award. The award was presented at the 2015 Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida on March 8 –11 at the Orlando World Center Marriott.

Sponsored by Brinker International, the Volunteer of the Year Award is presented to a WFF volunteer who makes significant and lasting contributions pursuing the goals and mission of WFF.

"Lisa's scope of responsibility and investment of volunteer time in WFF is significantly greater than any other volunteer role due to the volunteer structure in Canada. She leads the planning and hosting of a variety of regional events on an annual basis," said Hattie Hill, WFF President and CEO. "We are so proud of her and grateful for her consistent contribution."

MacNeil has held a membership in WFF since 2008, becoming the first company ambassador for Gordon Food Service Canada in 2009. She also lead the Canadian Ambassadors group in 2011 for two years, eventually taking a leadership role for all WFF events in 2014 and expanding Canadian events beyond Toronto.

MacNeil was promoted to General Manager of United Restaurants, a subsidiary of GFS, in 2012. She also serves on the Executive Committee of WFF as vice chair of events.

"WFF played a big part in preparing me for this leadership opportunity," said MacNeil in a statement. "I am grateful and most honored to receive the Volunteer of the Year Award. I love doing the work that I do and to get this recognition for something I so strongly believe in and advocate for, is very special."
