September 25, 2014
Wendy's has introduced three new BBQ pulled pork offerings: BBQ pulled pork sandwich, BBQ pulled pork cheeseburger and BBQ pulled pork cheese fries.
According to a news release, the new offerings feature hickory-smoked pulled pork that's shredded, not chopped. Wendy's has also rolled out three sauces – sweet, smoky or spicy.
Wendy's three BBQ pulled pork offerings, available until early November, also include pickles and onions.
- The BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich features hickory-smoked pulled pork and slaw, topped the choice of sauces and served on a brioche bun. It is available for the suggested price of $4.49.
- The BBQ Pulled Pork Cheeseburger includes a beef hamburger patty, topped with hickory-smoked pulled pork, a slice of cheddar cheese, slaw and one of three barbecue sauces, all served on a brioche bun for the suggested price of $4.99.
- The BBQ Pulled Pork Cheese Fries use Wendy's Natural-Cut Fries as a foundation for cheddar cheese sauce, hickory-smoked pulled pork, diced red onions and a choice of three sauces drizzled on top. The suggested price is $2.99.
Wendy’s has also created a petition to help make barbecue the "National Dish of America." The brand is hoping to garner 100,000 signatures in 30 days, which will elicit a presidential response.
