Wendy's approves Panasonic as POS hardware vendor for franchisees

December 1, 2009

Panasonic has announced that the company has been officially designated by Wendy's as a NextGEN supplier of point-of-sale hardware for the Wendy's franchise system. The notification was made by Wendy's corporate officials following months of intensive product testing and evaluation.

"We are very proud to have this tremendous vote of confidence from one of the world's largest quick service providers," said Sam Miyakodani, group manager, Panasonic. "Wendy's restaurants depend on their point-of-sale systems to be reliable and to help them meet their profit goals. Wendy's choice of Panasonic as their POS hardware supplier shows their recognition of the strong return on investment delivered by Panasonic solutions."

"We are pleased to approve Panasonic as a hardware vendor for franchisees of the Wendy's system," says Don Zimmerman, chief information officer, Wendy's/Arby's Group.  "Panasonic has a strong reputation for excellent products for the quick service industry, which continues with the Panasonic Stingray."

Panasonic's leading purpose-built Stingray workstation uniquely combines a true open architecture application platform and an innovative modular design that delivers "the power to change" at any time with a lower total cost of ownership. Its modular design allows for do-it-yourself troubleshooting, servicing and upgrades, reducing downtime and saving money on costly technician visits.

The workstation's open architecture runs virtually any operating system and features a high-speed processor and up to 2 gigabytes of on-board RAM. Stingray is ideal for stand-alone applications, and can also be integrated into a LAN network to run the most demanding back office operations.
