Wendy's, Burger King, Hardee's kick off promotions

Several brands have launched online and instant-win promotions recently, including Hardee's, Burger King and Wendy's.
 
Hardee's has signed on as the premier sponsor of the original Web video series, SLOTCAR. The no-holds-barred videos, produced by Animax/Unplugged, parodies one of America's largest and favorite sports, stock car auto racing.
 
The SLOTCAR videos are one to two minutes in length and follow the same format as the sport. Each new webisode will be released to coincide with key dates on the 2009 racing schedule.
 
The first full webisode featuring a Hardee's slotcar launched Feb. 7 onwww.Slotcar2009.comandwww.hardees.com. Sister chain Carl's Jr. also is a series sponsor and will be featured in future webisodes that will be seen in their entirety onwww.carlsjr.com.
 
Burger King instant-win game
 
According to Promo Magazine, Burger Kinghas launcheda ‘Pink Panther 2' instant-win game to push sales of its BK Fresh Apple Fries.
 
Customers who purchase BK Fresh Apple Fries will receive a code on specially marked packages to enter online through March 3 for a chance to win a diamond and pink sapphire necklace. Each prize includes a pendant with a half-carat white diamond surrounded by pink sapphires. Thirty necklaces will be given away.
 
Print ads, online and in restaurant merchandising support the promotion. Wunderman is executing the game, online and merchandising portions of the campaign, while Campbell-Mithun is handling the print ads.
 
Wendy's instant-win game
 
Wendy's has launched an instant-win game connected to the upcoming NASCAR series Coca-Cola 600 race, the Wendy's/Coca-Cola Ride with Kyle Sweepstakes. Customers in the 48 contiguous United States and the District of Columbia at least 16 years old may purchase a large 40-ounce drink and locate the unique 10 digit code. Customers then visitwendys.eprize.net/ridewithkyleand follow the links to enter the code, making entrants eligible for one entry into the sweepstakes and one instant-win game play.
 
Prizes include:
  • Grand prize package for two to Charlotte, N.C., to attend the Coca-Cola 600 race at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Trip package includes airfare for two, hotel accommodations and two tickets to the 50th running of the Coca-Cola 600, garage passes and a tour to go behind the scenes at the Lowe's Motor Speedway, a private meet and greet with legendary Kyle Petty, including a race shop tour and private lunch, a ride along with Petty around the Lowe's Motor Speedway and $300 spending money.
  • First prize trip package for two to attend the Coca-Cola 600 race at Lowe's Motor Speedway, including airfare, hotel accommodations, opportunity to ride in a pace car prior to the race, two tickets to the Coca-Cola 600, an escorted pre-race pit tour to go behind the scenes at the Lowe's Motor Speedway, VIP trackside hospitality tickets and access to the Race Day Show with driver appearances and Coca-Cola souvenirs
  • Second prize, one in each of the three Wendy's regions, including a trip package for two to attend the Coca-Cola 600 race at Lowe's Motor Speedway, including airfare for two, hotel accommodations and two tickets to the Coca-Cola 600 with an escorted pre-race pit tour at the Lowe's Motor Speedway, VIP trackside hospitality tickets and access to the Race Day Show with driver appearances and Coca-Cola souvenirs.
Purchase not neccessary to enter. The promotion runs through March 22.
