"We're not going to make the next Angry Birds, we're making cheeseburgers," Brandon Rhoten, Wendy's vice president of digital, told investors in February, according to The Dispatch. "This is all built to make the in-restaurant experience better."
In 2014, Wendy's unveiled an app that allows users to stores credit card information in pay using their phones at various locations, with another seven stores testing a new mobile app in Columbus.
The lab could help the company roll out technologies quicker than its competitors and appeal more to younger generations, the article said.
