Wendy's is expanding the responsibilities of its chief communications officer to include not just communications for the brand, but also quality assurance, customer care, public affairs and corporate responsibility. Liliana M. Esposito has held the company's top comms job since 2014, according to a press release.

Esposito is responsible for establishing the vision and strategy for all communications with franchisees and employees, as well as public relations, government relations and corporate responsibility. Her work with the quality assurance function of the role involves developing quality and safety procedures throughout the company's supply chain and restaurants.

Esposito's team recently restructured Wendy's corporate responsibility efforts under one united banner, Good Done Right, and created the brand's Supplier Code of Conduct. Under her direction, Wendy's also launched its blog, The Square Deal, concentrating on issues important to brand leadership.

She serves as a trustee of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and sits on the board of Quality Supply Chain Co-op, Inc., the independent purchasing cooperative for Wendy's restaurants. She is the executive sponsor of WeQual, Wendy's employee resource group focused on LGBTQ+ employees and allies.

Prior to Wendy's, Esposito was vice president of corporate communications and public affairs at Dean Foods in Dallas, following her time as public affairs manager with Mars, Inc. in New Jersey
