Wendy's franchisee adds more units to portfolio

Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Meritage Hospitality Group Inc., a Wendy's franchisee, has announced the acquisition of two more Wendy's restaurants in the Jacksonville, Fla., designated market area.

The newly acquired Wendy's restaurants are located in Kingsland, Ga., and Jacksonville. The acquisition adds 90 Wendy's team members to the company.

"Meritage remains committed to acquisitions, new store development and the modernization of its Wendy's restaurant portfolio," said Robert Schermer, Jr., CEO of Meritage Hospitality Group.

Meritage has also begun construction on three Wendy's "Image Activation" remodel programs.
