Wendy's franchisee gains food cost control with RTIconnect

Wendy's franchisee Calhoun Management Corp. has partnered with Restaurant Technology Inc.'s RTIconnect Back Office Software to control food costs. The solution provides detailed food cost reporting without the need to invest in a new POS system.
 
RTIconnect Back Office Solution provides Daily and Weekly Food Variance reports, so managers know exactly where to look to solve variance problems. These reports show the difference in ideal and actual food usage for selected inventory items and provide "drill-through" links to inventory/usage reports for troubleshooting.
 
"It's helped us identify where our opportunity areas are, and helped managers narrow down the items to work on. Instead of working on 200 items, they work on the five that need to be worked on," said Paul Rambler, director of operations for Calhoun Management.
 
Rambler said the company prefered RTIconnect because it would allow its 14 restaurants to continue to use their Panasonic registers. Choosing RTIconnect, which is POS-independent, saved them from having to invest $200,000 in a new POS systems.
