Wendy's franchisee plans to triple footprint in Philippines

October 29, 2013

The Wendy's franchisee for the Philippine market is planning to triple its store count within the next two-plus years. According to Business World, Wenphil Corp. expects to hit 100 stores by 2016 via franchising.

Wenphil began subfranchising the brand last year. The story reports that the Philippines is the only country allowed to have a sub-franchising system by the parent company, which is based out of Columbus, Ohio.

To attract operators, Wenphil's existing 34 restaurants are undergoing renovations, and are expected to be done by Q1 2014.
