Wendy's honoring student athletes with High School Heisman Awards

Wendy's is inviting high school seniors who excel in academics and athletics to apply for its High School Heisman Award.

Wendy's is inviting high school seniors who excel in academics and athletics to apply for its High School Heisman Award.

Candidates must demonstrate academic excellence, community service and athletic talent in at least one of the 27 eligible school-sponsored sports.

Applicants must submit their applications before 5 p.m. central time on Oct. 10.

Twelve National Finalists, six male and six female, will receive an all-expense paid trip to New York City with their families to attend the Wendy's High School Heisman Award Ceremony and the collegiate Heisman Memorial Trophy Award weekend festivities in December 2014.

The one male and one female Wendy's High School Heisman National Award Winners will also earn a Wendy's High School Heisman Trophy, a $10,000 donation for their high school, recognition during the ESPN national telecast of the college Heisman Memorial Trophy presentation and a $500 Wendy's gift card.
