Wendy's of Michigan, owned and operated by Meritage Hospitality Group, opened the company's fifth Michigan Image Activation Wendy's restaurant in the Greater Grand Rapids Area. The restaurant opened to the public on Feb. 22 and is located at 169 54th St. SW in Wyoming.
"Meritage is very excited to partner with The Wendy's Company in this project," said Tyler Boik, Wendy's brand manager for Meritage. "This is our fifth Image Activation restaurant in Michigan, and our first total new build since 2004. This is a testament to the growing economy of the Greater Grand Rapids area and shows it can support continued growth. With the opening of this location it brings our total restaurant count in West Michigan to 46."
The construction or remodel of Image Activation restaurants is a piece of the brand revitalization. The new restaurant features sleek, ultra-modern designs. Features include lounge seating with flat-screen TVs, fireplace, Wi-Fi, Coke Freestyle machines and digital menu boards.
"We are very happy to continue our growth here in Michigan with this new build," said Mike Baldwin, Wendy's of Michigan Area Director. "We expect to show promising growth in this new location, and be a staunch supporter of the growing community of Wyoming."
In addition to opening a brand new Image Activation restaurant, Wendy's of Michigan also gave back to the community.
"In the winter we raised gloves and coats for under privileged children in West Michigan," Baldwin said. "We then raised $109,000 for the local children's hospital, we sold Frosty key tags for the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, and finally helped spearhead 1,500 cases of water being donated to the City of Flint, MI in conjunction with other franchisees and the Wendy's Company."
