Wendy's is new target of email hoax
October 22, 2008
COLUMBUS, Ohio — First it was In-N-Out Burger, now bloggers and news sources are reporting that Wendy's, which was founded in 1969, is the target of an email scam claiming to have reduced prices for its so-called 60th anniversary. CBS9 in Greenville, N.C., reports that the Pitt County, N.C., Sheriff's Office contacted several Wendy's outlets to confirm the email is a hoax.
The email says all hamburgers will sell for a quarter, cheeseburgers for 30 cents, fries for 15 cents and drinks for a dime.
