Wendy's has opened its 100th restaurant in the Philippines, located on Friendship Highway in Angeles City, Pampanga, according to a press release.
The new location is owned and operated by Wenphil Corp. and comes as the quick-service restaurant industry in the Philippines grows at an annual rate of nearly 19%. According to company data, more than 70% of Filipino consumers visit a quick-service restaurant at least once per week.
"Reaching 100 Wendy's restaurants in the Philippines is a meaningful milestone for our brand and a testament to the strength of this market," Chris Conway, senior vice president and managing director for Wendy's APMEA region, said in the press release. "The Philippines continues to be an important growth market for Wendy's in the region, and we're proud to expand alongside Wenphil to bring our iconic menu and exceptional hospitality to even more Filipino communities."
Wenphil Corp. has a development agreement to increase the number of Wendy's locations in the country to 200 by 2030. "We are incredibly proud to celebrate the opening of our 100th Wendy's restaurant in the Philippines," said Joey Garcia, president and CEO of Wenphil Corp. "This accomplishment reflects the dedication of our teams, the strength of our partnership with Wendy's, and the continued loyalty of our customers. As we look ahead, we remain focused on delivering the quality, freshness, and hospitality that sets Wendy's apart in the market."
Wendy's first entered the Philippine market more than 40 years ago. The brand specializes in hamburgers, chicken and its signature Frosty dessert.
