In the post COVID-era, when food is traveling farther than ever, Wendy's is revamping its french fries to feature a crispier finish, according to a CNN Business report.

The fry will stay hotter and retain its crispiness longer with revamped taste.

"They're going to notice a difference as soon as they taste it," Kurt Kane, Wendy's president told CNN Business. "The proof will be in the tasting."

The fries will be available everywhere by mid-September. CNN Business reports restaurants will use fry baskets that are shorter, allowing the fries to be fully submerged in oil. The formula took four years to research and 20 designs were tried and discarded before settling on the fry design. according to the report.

Wendy's cited a national taste test that showed diners preferred the chain's new fries two-to-one over McDonald's signature fries.
