Wendy's set to pay wages

September 6, 2007

Berkshire (Mass.) Eagle: Wendy's officials have announced plans to reopen 13 closed western Massachusetts restaurants within 30 to 60 days.

Company officials also said Wendy's and the Massachusetts attorney general's office have established a $350,000 fund to help employees of the 13 closed Wendy's restaurants operated by former franchisee Robert Burda, said Denny Lynch, senior vice president of communications for Dublin, Ohio-based Wendy's International.

Burda and his company have been indicted by Attorney General Martha Coakley's office for 10 counts of failing to pay wages.
