Wendy's target of fake e-mail coupon

Wendy's has posted a Fraudulent Coupon Alert on its Web site, alerting consumers and investors to a bogus offer. The fake coupon claims to be a special offer available from Allstate for a free Classic Double with Cheese as a reward for purchasing Wendy's stock.
Wendy's said in its fraud alert the coupon has circulated on the Internet over the last few weeks, and the company has taken steps to have it removed from various sites. However, the coupon continues to appear on new sites and be forwarded via e-mail.
"While it looks real, it is not a valid coupon, and we are not able to accept it in our restaurants," the company said in the fraud alert.
Legitimate coupons are available by signing up for Wendy's e-club, WendyMail.
