Wendy's/Arby's International has secured an agreement with a Russian restaurant group outlining the development of 180 dual-branded Wendy's and Arby's restaurants in the Russian Federation throughout the next 10 years.
The agreement was made with Wenrus Restaurant Group Limited, an affiliate of Food Service Capital, headquartered in Moscow. Food Service Capital currently operates 28 restaurants in Moscow, Novosibirsk, Kiev and London.
"This is a key step in the continued acceleration of our international development strategy,” said Roland Smith, Wendy’s/Arby’s Group president and CEO. “Russia is a dynamic market which offers significant long-term expansion potential."
A senior leadership team within WRG has been appointed to oversee the development, led by chairman and CEO Alexander Kovaler, who has held similar positions with AT&T, RC Cola International and Gallery Media.
"We are delighted to be associated with two high-quality, international brands with an outstanding array of signature menu items that will help differentiate our business from other restaurant chains in Russia," said Kovaler.
