September 18, 2014

More than 200 franchise brands will be represented at the West Coast Franchise Expo scheduled for Oct. 23-25 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.

The expo is sponsored by the International Franchise Association.

The conference will include more than 40 seminars along with five symposia covering a wide-range of topics such as, “What Do I Need to Know Before Buying a Franchise,” “Getting Ready to Franchise Your Business,” “Financing Options for Franchising: Your Best Alternatives Today” and more.

“As many first time business owners know, opening an independent business has an exceptionally high failure rate, but franchising provides a safety net for those seeking entrepreneurship,” said Tom Portesy, president and CEO of MFV Expositions, producer of the WCFE. “As noted by the IFA, entrepreneurs continue to see franchising as a strong path to business expansion with a 21-percent increase in new concepts franchising in 2013. Investing in a franchise instantly provides you with the benefits of a proven franchise system, support from an established organization, whether that be through training, financial incentives or location scouting, potential name recognition and more.”

The WCFE will also offer a small business seminar series in conjunction with SCORE Orange County, an organization supported by the U.S. Small Business Administration. The Small Business Conference Program will offer classes in social media, sales, marketing, technology, accessing capital and more.
