A Morgantown, West Virginia, man is suing a Burger King location for racial discrimination, according to the legal journal The West Virginia Record.
A complaint filed on Jan. 22 by Michael Palmer III against KB Fast Foods alleges that Palmer was forced to wear a name tag that read "Little Oreo," a slur about his multiracial identity. Palmer faced a hostile work environment as a result.
According to the suit, Palmer's employment was terminated due to "humiliating and hostile and outrageous facts and circumstances surrounding his employment," the article said.
Palmer claims the circumstances violated West Virginia Code and is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
