Wetzel's Pretzels celebrates 400th store opening

Wetzel's Pretzels will host a grand opening for its 400th unit on Feb. 13. The store, located in the heart of Los Angeles on Hollywood Boulevard, is across from the Jimmy Kimmel studios and next door to the TCL Chinese Theatre, according to a press release.

Wetzel's 400th location is owned and operated by existing franchisee Abu Taher.

"A ton of tremendous work goes into building a brand legacy that's 400 units strong and to say we're proud is an understatement," Vincent Montanelli, Wetzel's Pretzels COO, said in the release. "Wetzel's got its start 30 years ago in Redondo Beach, California, and we're honored to mark this milestone moment in our brand's history by opening this landmark location close to where we began all those years ago."

The Pasadena-born brand has certainly made a name for itself in the snack category opening 40 new units this past year in several new markets including Detroit, Michigan, Brooklyn, New York and Toronto, Canada.

"The brand has come a long way in 30 years and it's remarkable to be a part of such a historic moment in Wetzel's history," Taher said in the release. "It is my privilege to represent this brand's milestone location and serve the millions of tourists who make their way through L.A.'s iconic Hollywood Blvd every year."

Wetzel's Pretzels operates 400 locations across the country.
