Wetzel's Pretzels opens in California Walmart

The opening continues a partnership between the pretzel chain and Walmart that utilizes a store-within-a-store model designed to fit the retailer's footprint. Jon Fischer, head of development at Wetzel's Pretzels, said the company plans further growth in non-traditional spaces nationwide.

"Our ongoing expansion into Walmart locations highlights the flexibility of our concept, allowing us to reach even more communities nationwide," Fischer added in the press release. "We're confident the Porter Ranch bakery will be a hit with shoppers looking for a fresh, fast, and fun snack experience."

Wetzel's Pretzels was founded in 1994 and has more than 450 locations.
