Wetzel's Pretzels opens in South Carolina Walmart

Wetzel's Pretzels has opened a location in a Walmart in Summerville, South Carolina, according to a press release.

The unit is under the helm of first-time Wetzel's operators Mathieu and Hannah Rajaonah. The Rajaonahs will continue to grow the brand's footprint with another Wetzel's opening in 2027.

"When looking for our next business venture, Wetzel's Pretzels offered the balance of operational simplicity and growth potential we were looking for," Mathieu Rajaonah said in the release. "The opening is just the beginning, and we're delighted to continue growing with the brand through its innovative franchise offering."

"We're thrilled to open the first brick-and-mortar Wetzel's in South Carolina and have both Mathieu and Hannah leading the way to handheld happiness in Summerville," Jon Fischer, head of development at Wetzel's Pretzels, said in the release. "As we continue to grow into new markets, we look forward to sharing our iconic flavors with the local community. We're confident the Summerville bakery will be a hit with shoppers looking for a fresh, fast, and fun snack experience."

Wetzel's Pretzels has more than 450 locations.
