Whataburger brings back signature Patty Melt

Whataburger's signature Patty Melt has returned for a limited time. The customer favorite will be available through Aug. 15 at Whataburger's more than 720 restaurants in 10 states.

The Patty Melt is made with two fresh American beef patties, two slices of Monterey Jack cheese, grilled onions and Whataburger's Creamy Pepper Sauce. It's served between two thick slices of Texas Toast.

"Whataburger fans all have their favorite limited-time menu items, but the Patty Melt is by far one of our most popular," said Rich Scheffler, Whataburger Restaurants LP Group's director of marketing. "We're excited to bring back this tasty sandwich this summer for all those fans who crave it year-round."

The Patty Melt, which has its own Facebook page, was first introduced as a LTO in July 2008.
