Whataburger is offering free, 4-ounce samplings of its famous shakes on Sept. 19 from 12 to 4 p.m. for dine-in customers. The promotion is a tribute to Whataburger’s founder, Harmon Dobson, as the company continues to celebrate its 60th anniversary.
Whataburger first opened in 1950 and was a small burger stand located in Corpus Christi, Texas, serving chocolate shakes for 15 cents and burgers for 25 cents. Currently, Whataburger has more than 700 locations in 10 states.
"Harmon Dobson opened his first Whataburger in 1950 and creamy, cold shakes on the original menu offered his customers a way to beat the Texas heat," said Rich Scheffler, director of marketing for Whataburger Restaurants, LP Group.
Whataburger shakes are sold in vanilla, chocolate and strawberry and avaiable in three different sizes, 16-, 20- and 32-ounce.
