White Castle adds delivery to its app

White Castle has added delivery to its app, meaning customers can order their favorite White Castle meals with a $4.99 delivery fee and no additional upcharges on food, according to a press release.

The update has rolled out to all of White Castle's markets.

"The White Castle app has delivered cravings and savings for customers since it first launched," Jamie Richardson, VP at White Castle, said in the release. "The addition of delivery in the app truly makes this a one-stop shop for anyone looking to satisfy their hankering for that one-of-a-kind taste of White Castle."

White Castle partnered with Uber Direct, the delivery brand's white-label platform. Customers order directly from a White Castle restaurant within a five-mile radius, and the app uses Uber technology to connect each order with a driver.

"The only thing missing from the in-app delivery experience is hearing the sizzle of the onions and smelling the burgers on the griddle," Richardson said. "Sliders, sides and every menu item are available, all day long for delivery, with just a few taps of the app."

"Uber is constantly innovating to make it easier for restaurants to meet their customers where they are," Bernie Huddlestun, head of Uber Direct in the U.S., said in the release. "We are excited to team up with White Castle to power on-demand delivery straight from their White Castle app."

White Castle operates more than 350 restaurants as well as a retail division.
