White Castle Foundation donates $2 million in 2010

February 15, 2011

The Ingram-White Castle Foundation, White Castle’s charitable foundation, donated $2 million in 2010 to Central Ohio organizations focused on education, health and human services and ending hunger. White Castle is headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.

“The mission of White Castle is to provide mental and bodily nourishment for those throughout Central Ohio who hunger for knowledge, independence and self-sufficiency," said Jamie Richardson, White Castle vice president of corporate and government relations. "The Ingram-White Castle Foundation believes that knowledge can transform lives and enables young people the opportunity to realize their full potential."

The mission of the Ingram-White Castle Foundation, established in 1921, is to support projects that serve disadvantaged students by helping them achieve academic success, preparing them for work, strengthening educational institutions and addressing critical human service needs.

One of White Castle’s fundraising efforts in 2010 was the launch of its Original Slider-scented candle benefiting Autism Speaks. The candle's sales have raised $500,000 for the organization.
