White Castle is waffling again

White Castle is calling attention to its all-day-long breakfast offerings with a special and a special sweepstakes, including two breakfast sliders for $3 and The Winning Waffle Sweepstakes that ultimately will send some lucky pair to Belgium, as in the country. The sweepstakes gives customers the chance to win hundreds of prizes, including a grand prize trip for two to Belgium, a news release said.

Collectively, all this emphasis is also to call consumer attention to some of the brand's specialty breakfast offerings in the Belgian waffle category, including mini Belgian waffles, a Belgian waffle Slider and the chicken-and-Belgian waffle slider. 

The offerings, which were launched in July,  feature waffles that the chain actually imports from Belgium. To enter the sweepstakes, the brand said fans just need to go online to www.thewinningwaffle.com and follow the instructions to upload their receipts as proof of a waffle purchase. 

Next the entrant will play a game to "uncover a winning waffle," which could yield a free breakfast, or a week, month or year's worth of the same. The grand prize winner will win trip for two to Belgium, along with a tour of a Belgian Castle and a bakery visit. 

The brand also has an assortment of other breakfast offerings as well as a line of frozen breakfast sliders available in groceries.

"We may have started out as a hamburger company, but today we truly are a slider company feeding the tastes of all Cravers," White Castle Vice President Jamie Richardson, said in the release. "We know people love to eat breakfast not just in the morning, but anytime they want it. That's why we make our breakfast menu available day and night."

The promotion runs now through Nov. 3 and also features a sack of 10 cheese Sliders for $6.99, or $7.99 in New York and New Jersey. Cravers can also nominate themselves to be immortalized in the White Castle Cravers Hall of Fame by submitting original stories about their memorable moments with White Castle. Other hall-of-famers already inducted include Kal Penn and John Cho of the movie, "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle," as well as rock star, Alice Cooper, comic book pioneer, Stan Lee and others. Entries should be made by Sept. 30 at whitecastle.com/CHOF.
