White Castle names executive vice president

The "Slider" doesn't fall too far from the tree. White Castle System, Inc. has promoted Dave Rife to assistant vice president.

Rife is the oldest of the fourth generation of family members who own and operate a White Castle restaurant. He previously held the position of assistant general manager for the White Castle Porcelain Steel Buildings division (PSB).

As a member of the company's Executive Council, Rife will help shape the future direction of White Castle, focusing on the objective of "remaining a family-owned business for generations to come."

Rife grew up with the White Castle business, taking his first job behind the counter while in high school. He graduated from the Ohio State University and received an MBA degree from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio, where White Castle is headquartered.

In February, Rife represented White Castle on the CBS show Undercover Boss.
