White Castle and Roy Rogers Restaurants are betting chicken will launch them into a strong-selling summer. Columbus, Ohio-based White Castle is hoping to run rings around the competition with its fan-favorite white-meat chicken rings and dipping concoctions, like ranch, barbecue and honey mustard sauces, a news release said. To get the summer off right, the brand is offering the rings in 12- or 20-piece packs for $2.99 and $5.79, respectively, except in New York and New Jersey, where they cost $3.99 and $6.49.

"Chicken rings are a perpetual favorite among our customers," White Castle Vice President Jamie Richardson said in the release. "They offer great taste at a great price that comes full circle to create even more cravings."

Additionally, White Castle is offering discounts on chicken rings as part of its summer promotion which also includes savings on Share-A-Meal Pack #8 that includes 10 Original Sliders, a 20-piece pack of chicken rings and a sack of fries for $14.99 ($1 more in New York/New Jersey) for Craver Nation members via the app. And topping it all off, the brand is continuing its hundredth birthday celebration by introducing a new dessert of whole birthday cakes, joining the brand's birthday-cake-on-a-stick offering.

Roy Rogers lights a fire under its chicken

Meantime, Frederick, Maryland-based Roy Rogers is lighting a fire under their chickens via partnership with Texas Pete in the western-themed QSR's Texas Pete Buffalo Chicken Tenders LTO, sold separately, or as a combo with three-, four-, eight- or 12-piece options, a news release said.

"We're going all in this Summer," Roy Rogers Senior Director of Marketing Mark Jenkins, said in the release. "Texas Pete™ Buffalo Chicken Tenders takes our original hand-breaded tenders to the next level. The intense flavor will leave our customers wanting more."

Jenkins said a previous Texas Pete Spicy Chicken Sandwich the brand offered helped it to decide to go forward with this latest LTO being offered at the QSR's 47 locations.
