Long John Silver's has a 'twinkie' in his eye this 'Talk Like a Pirate Day'

"While supplies last" are the operative words in the promotion that Long John Silver's has in store for its quasi-national holiday, "Talk Like a Pirate Day," on Sept. 19. That's when the seafood QSR is offering a fittingly rebellious treat to tantalize all pirates in the making: a free deep-fried Twinkie.

According to a news release, the health food-lover's nightmare dessert will be available all Sept. 19 — again — while supplies last, to help the chain celebrate the "Arrrgh"-prone day by awarding patrons who dress buccaneer-style a free Fish N' Fry, too. 

But there's a good act behind all these dastardly deeds since Long John Silver's has also partnered with the American Cancer Society to raise funds to fight the illness in all its forms. That drive starts on Pirate Day at more than 650 Long John Silver's locations, which last year raised more than $50,000 for the cause.

Finally, the chain is urging "pirate-y" patrons to show their wild sides on social media from now until the day itself.
