Taco Bell in Canada — at least in two cities of the Great White North and via online — has wine-lovers all abuzz with news about a limited-time wine offering. Dubbed simply, Taco Bell Jalapeño Noir is on the menu only at select stores in Hamilton and Toronto in Canada or via www.tacobell.ca.
The wine, which goes on sale Wednesday for $25 Canadian and lasts until it's gone, is the perfect pairing to the brand's toasted cheesy chalupa, according to a Taco Bell spokeswoman, who said via email that it complements the notes of "wild strawberry, cherry, and beetroot in this silky red wine."
The chalupa, which made a brief appearance last year on U.S. menus, features aged sharp cheddar cheese toasted onto the chalupa shell and seasoned beef and toppings. It's available now in Canadian locations as well as at tacobell.ca, and U.S. fans will see it back on the menu by November as an LTO.
Taco Bell did not confirm if the wine would be available outside Canada but offered this bit of teasing information, "You'll be hearing from me once more this week," to be interpreted any way you choose, at least for the time being.
