July 8, 2009
Wisconsin State Journal: A group of local clergy inSouth Central Wisconsin has written Taco Bell protesting the firing of more than two dozen Hispanic employees from restaurants in Madison and Sun Prairie.
Taco Bell Corp. responded by saying the firings were the result of discrepancies found by the Social Security Administration regarding the employees' Social Security numbers, problems that were not resolved after several months.
About 19 of the former Taco Bell workers have filed complaints with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunities Commission in Milwaukee.
