Yoshinoya Japanese Kitchen in the U.S. is hauling out some decidedly American spirit this election season by not only encouraging all employees and customers to vote, but providing tools, time and incentives to do so, according to a news release.
The brand is providing voter registration resources through its stores and an extra hour of pay for team members, which it hopes employees will use to educate themselves on the voting process, candidates and issues.
Also for its customers, Yoshinoya America is offering:
"We believe in the importance of individual expression and providing freedom of choice, whether it be in customizing your favorite bowl, or selecting the future leaders of this country," Yoshinoya America CEO Dar Vasseghi, said in the release. "Now more than ever, it's vital that everyone has the time and resources needed to make informed decisions and cast their vote."
Yoshinoya is among the world's oldest QSRs, dating back to its founding in Tokyo in 1899. Today, Yoshinoya has more than 2,000 restaurants in Japan, Mainland China, Shanghai, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Philippines and the United States, including over 100 locations in California.
