Yoshinoya expands into Ventura County, Calif.

December 15, 2009

Yoshinoya has announced that it will celebrate the opening of its first Ventura County, Calif., location Dec. 19. The opening brings the total number of restaurants to 98 in the United States and follows a successful year of expansion inside and outside the core market of Los Angeles.

New location openings outside of Los Angeles over the past 18 months have included Las Vegas, Phoenix, and the California areas of Corona, Oxnard and soon-to-open Escondido.

"We continue to receive inquiries from Ventura County residents for new Yoshinoya restaurants and our fresh, affordable and wholesome Japanese style food. We expect that Yoshinoya will continue to expand in Ventura County as new, and current, franchisees are looking for open territories like this that have strong demand for our brand," said vice president of franchise development and sales, Scot Hobert.

Yoshinoya's signature Beef Bowl recipe, which was created more than 100 years ago in Japan, can be enjoyed at the new Oxnard, Calif., restaurant. The new location offers a wide menu including their famous rice bowls, BBQ style plates, sesame wing, soups, salads, kids meals and desserts.

The location in Oxnard will be holding an official grand opening celebration Jan. 9, 2010, complete with free collectible tea cups, prizes, music and an official ribbon cutting by the mayor of Oxnard, Thomas E. Holden. The grand opening event will be capped off with their famous beef bowl eating contest.
