The CEO of Louisville-based QSR and pizza brand parent, Yum Brands, is contributing his salary for the remainder of the year to fund one-time $1,000 bonuses for almost 1,200 restaurant general managers across the company's brands, CNBC reported. CEO David Gibbs was originally set to earn $900,000 in salary excluding bonuses, but for the rest of the year that money will pay the bonuses and help fund the company's foundation's Global Employee Medical Relief Fund, according to a regulatory filing.
The funds will provide financial hardship grants to those employees who are directly impacted by COVID-19. The Yum Brands GMs set to receive the one-time bonuses manage the company's stores under the KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and the recently acquired, The Habit Burger Grill.
