Yum! plans to adjust prices to food costs more often

September 4, 2008

CNNMoney.com: Yum! Brands Inc. said it plans to adjust prices more often next year to meet rising ingredient costs.

While the quick-serve giant has historically raised prices two or three times a year, Yum! chief financial officer Richard Carucci said prices at Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken and other company restaurants could rise several times next year if commodities continue their steady increase.

Yum! has seen food costs rise around $110 million this year, more than twice as much as it had initially anticipated for the year.
