Yum! reaffirms FY08 outlook

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Same-store sales for restaurant chain operator Yum! Brands Inc. will increase 4 percent in mainland China, 4 percent in its international division and 2 percent in the United States for the year, the company said. U.S. company-owned same-store sales are expected to grow by 3 percent. 
 
Yum! operates the KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, A&W and Long John Silver's brands.
 
Yum! expects earnings per share growth of 12 percent, excluding special items, for 2008. The company expects to see at least 10 percent growth in earning in 2009, excluding special items, which would mark the eighth straight year of double-digit earnings per share growth.
 
The company will present an investor conference on its business strategies and global expansion outlook Dec. 10, from approximately 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Eastern time at the New York Stock Exchange. Detailed full-year 2009 guidance will be provided at the meeting.
