Food truck operators relish simplicity. But inside the tight confines of a mobile kitchen, the hectic pace can wreak havoc.
While workers' focus should be on cooking and preparing food and quickly getting it into the hands of hungry customers, they're often bombarded with juggling multiple duties–taking orders, handling payments, ensuring the kitchen received the orders, calling out to customers whose orders are complete–that can spawn long lines, significant wait times, frustrated patrons and, ultimately, lost business.
Technology helps make the overwhelming manageable. But traditional point-of-sale and kitchen display systems require extensive spaces and investment. Adding a POS and KDS built for a mobile platform are far better suited to food trucks and can function on standard phones and tablets workers already know how to use and can use for other business purposes.
